Let’s Talk Trees

22.07.2020

We need to hear your views about the ‘Trees for Cornish Towns’ project in Penzance.

What’s it all about?

During the uncertain times of Covid-19, it is clear that our parks, gardens and wild places are so important for our health and wellbeing. They provide places to exercise, get close to nature, and meet family and friends whilst socially distancing.

‘Trees for Cornish Towns’ is a new project which aims to boost urban green spaces for everyone, co-funded by the Forestry Commission Urban Tree Challenge Fund and the Forest for Cornwall Programme, and led by Cornwall Council.

There are proposals to plant new trees on the roundabout on Treweath Road and on Princess May Recreation Ground.

How can I find out more?

Households in the immediate vicinity of Treweath Road roundabout and Princess May Recreation Ground will be receiving letters detailing the plans.

If you don’t receive a letter but are interested in the proposed plans you can find out more by contacting Forest for Cornwall by filling in their contact form. You are also encouraged to give your views on the proposed plans.

How can I give my views?
