Town Trails

Penzance Town Council has developed 3 Town Trails.

Penzance Town Trail

If you want to explore the town, you can't do better than to follow the Penzance Town Trail. This takes you on a circular route through the town, tracing its story through buildings and historical remains, rounds and medieval crosses, churches, chapels, farm towns and shops. Marked by 16 individual waymarkers.

There is a guidebook which describes the 16 waymarkers. The Penzance Town Trail Guidebooks are available from the Town Council Office, Penlee House Gallery and Welcome to West Cornwall Centre.

Newlyn Trail

The Newlyn Trail is marked by 10 distinct Bronze waymarkers, a material reminiscent of the copper work dating back to the Industrial Class and the association between fishermen and artists in the early 1900s in Newlyn. The guidebook was designed by Dave Mynne and well illustrated with photographs from the collection at Penlee House. Copies of the guide are available from Barrons shop in the Strand, Newlyn and from the Town Council Office, Penlee House Gallery and Welcome to West Cornwall Centre.

Mousehole Trail.

The Mousehole Trail as with the others is marked by a set of distinct waymarkers. The trail will take you to those often unseen parts of the village, all with a story to tell.
