The council is responsible for various amenities within the town and its environs.  You can find more about these amenities in this section.

The Council is responsible for the management of the Penlee House Art Gallery and Museum together with the park and car park surrounding it, which includes the Open Air Theatre.

The Town Council provides over 170 allotments spread over nine sites throughout the towns and villages in the area.

Since 2007, Penzance Town Council has been in overall charge of the Golowan Festival and manages and oversees its finances and statutory requirements such as road closures and licence applications. Support is also given in the form of grant aid and advice to the St Piranís Day festivities, Montol Festival, Newlyn Fish Festival and Mousehole Sea, Salts and Sail.  At Christmas, the Council puts up Christmas lights throughout the town and provides a tree and lights beside Humphry Davy Statue.
